The WBCSD Energy Efficiency in Buildings project – second phase report available

The second in a series of three reports aimed at describing a roadmap for radically cutting energy use and greenhouse emissions arising from the built environment was published on 27 April 2009 by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.

This report exploits a set of unique models developed by the WBCSD to focus on the how market mechanisms can be harnessed to drive the transformation in the energy efficiency of the global building stock that is required to meet global change targets: Energy Efficiency in Buildings – Transforming the Market.

The first report, published in September 2008, focused on understanding and defining the structural elements and trends within the building value chain and identifying the principal drivers and obstacles to rapidly accelerating the uptake of energy efficiency measures, Energy Efficiency in Buildings – Business Realities and Opportunities.
